Milling is a mechanical machining which removes the excess material, by obtaining in this way a wide typology of surfaces such as:
  • Plain surfaces
  • Grooves
  • Shoulders
  • Borings

This is made possible thanks to various tools which “cut” the excess material.
The machining is made through milling cutters, installed on milling machines or boring mills.

How is milling done?

Milling normally starts with a first stage, called “rough machining” where removal is done in a quick way. After that there is the finishing stage, in which the excess parts are removed, until you get the surface with the desired dimensions and with the roughness which is needed for the correct and optimal finishing of the product.
